Countdown Day 3
This is HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS from My Favorite Things which will be released on August 1st! There are so many possibilities with all the cute images you'll get in this set! But, as I sat baking in my 90 degree apartment last night it was hard to get in the Christmas spirit. I pulled out some Christmas papers, sat and stared at them for a while, and soon I was singing "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas" and thinking red and green! LOL! I stamped the images with Palette Noir and colored them with Copic and Prismacolor markers. I have some of both so I just grab the colors that best match what I'm looking for. I picked up the mini Christmas tree lights on clearance a couple years ago. They're meant to string around a mini Christmas tree, but I
knew I'd find some papercraft related use for them! Am I the only one who stockpiles odd items in hopes that they might be useful in cardmaking someday!? It drives my husband nuts so it would be nice to let him know he's not the only husband suffering through this! LOL! I used glue dots to adhere the lights to the tree. The card base is Wild Wasabi and stamped with Itty Bitty Backgrounds. The patterned paper is by KI Memories and the ribbon is from Strano Designs. I stitched along the bottom and around the image and highlighted portions of the Christmas tree with Stardust Gelly Roll pen. Thanks for stopping by for the countdown today! This card is FABULOUS! You can tell your husband that he is most definitely not alone in his quest to understand those crafty souls among us! I have been collecting bits of stuff for YEARS! And I only started paper crafting months ago! I just kept saying "I'll use this some day!" hahahaha...

Tell your DH that I have a whole room of stockpiled stuff...I am like that too, Taylor, I see stuff on clearance or not...and it is bought!! I have found that this method of stockpiling helps so that when I am working on a project late at nite.......I can always find something just right..so for that Moment..even thought the stores are closed..I saved on gas money...lol.

No, you're not the only one who keeps things thinking they might come in handy for some kind of craft someday!! I do it too!!! You just never know and when you throw some away, shortly after is when you find a use for it!!!!

You HAVE to stockpile. Article IX, Section 2, paragraph 3.1 of the Crafter's Code states very clearly that all crafters MUST stockpile. Just tell your husband you are a law abiding citizen and refuse to break the Code!

Great card! I am a Christmas junkie, so this is right up my alley. I have bought some of thse mini bulbs, and now you have shown me the "light"! I maybe able to use them on a card after all! YESSSSSSSSSSSS! Thanks for the inspiration :O)
