Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #19

Happy Friday and Happy Cupcake Day! I hope you all had a wonderful week! I'm really looking forward to this weekend as Jon and I have *nothing* scheduled on our calendars. I love those kind of weekends... just float around and do whatever. I might even have time to lay down on the couch for little nap on Sunday! :) I like to send out a cupcake card in the cupcake challenge prize winner and the Featured Cupcake Sampler packages each week. So when I came up with this sketch I had in mind to make myself some monogrammed cards to have on hand for challenge winners. The cardstock is Prism Papers Vibrant Pink and Frosted Teal and Stampin' Up Certainly Celery. I stamped the pink layer with Cornish Heritage Farms Polka Dot backgrounder. The cupcake images are from the eP exclusive Hey There Cupcake set by Stampendous. And of course I had to use my Just Rite monogram stamper. I inked a 2-color dry pad with Certainly Celery and Regal Rose reinkers. I have a couple of tips when using Stampin' Up reinkers to fill your monogram stamper pads: 1) Let the ink set for at least 30 minutes before stamping. 2) Use an eraser on the stamps to remove any residue left from the manufacturing process. 3) Make sure you're stamping on a hard surface. 4) Do not use pigment inks (a.k.a. craft ink) on your dry pad. The chamois-covered surface of the pad will not absorb the thick ink. You can purchase the monogram stamper here. My next shipment of monogram stampers is scheduled to arrive on Tuesday so if you place an order today please be aware that your order will not ship until Tuesday. Now let me introduce you to the Featured Cupcake Sampler this week! Her adorable Changito cupcake card wowed me last week and she's done it again this week. Meet Becky from Bouncy, Flouncy, Fun, Fun, Fun! She went shabby chic with her blue and brown cupcake card. Don't you love the colors, the distressed background, the cute cupcake? You can check out all the details on her blog! And now it's your turn to try the sketch. I'll chose the most clever, creative, and cute creation from the submissions this weekend to be the Featured Cupcake Sampler next week. Your design and blog will be featured on my blog during Cupcake Friday. One random winner will also be selected from among all the participants to receive three yards of each of the new satin ribbons from Taylored Expressions. Have you seen them? I have one word... luscious! Here's the sketch challenge! You're not required to use cupcakes for the challenge, but if you got 'em why not use 'em!? :) You're welcome to create something other than a card, just stick as closely to the sketch as possible and you'll be eligible for the prize drawing and Featured Cupcake Sampler honors. The finished size of my sample is 3 1/2" by 6 1/4", but feel free to adapt the sketch to any size. If you're uploading to Splitcoast use keyword TECC19 (for Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge 19). Leave a comment on this post with a link to your blog post or gallery upload so I can check it out! You must have your cards uploaded by Monday, June 9th at 8am PST to be eligible for the prize drawing. I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Don't forget to check out the beautiful inspiration from the Cupcake Challenge Girls!

Oh my goodness, Taylor, these colors are beautiful, and I love that you put your monogram on them to send out to others. Great idea! :) I am tempted to play, but I am leaving here in about 2 hours. Maybe when I get back Saturday night :) Kelly

Taylor-

Can I please ask which circle nestabilities you used for your monogram card? I ordered a set the curlz font from you and I want to make some monogram cards, but I know I'll NEED/WANT nestabilites. So, is yours the small or large size? Thanks in advance.

I'm so intrigued by the Justrite monogram stamper - I find that every time you use it, I have bookmarked that post (plus you do beautiful work!).
I am nearly convinced I need to buy it soon, but I am wondering if any of the circle or scalloped circle punches work with it. Do you happen to know if any SU circle punch, or their scalloped punch will fit it nicely? Or which of the Marvy punches work best? Thanks always for sharing your beautiful projects!
