Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #23

Happy Friday and Happy Cupcake Day! In honor of the 4th of July, I decided to do a partriotic cupcake creation! While you're all still reading, I wanted to clear up a little confusion about the challenge. Anyone and everyone can play... you do not have to use cupcakes in order to participate! This is just a regular sketch challenge that happens to fall on Cupcake Friday! :) OK... now back to the patriotic cupcake details! I used the Stampendous Freedom Cupcake acrylic stamp set available as an Archiver's Exclusive stamp set. I colored the cupcake with Copics, added white liquid applique and Tiny Twinkles to the frosting, and Crystal Stickles to the firecracker on top of the cupcake. I used red, white, and blue Stampendous glitter to cover the chipboard stars. The ribbon is May Arts organdy polka dot and the patterned paper is Deja Views. I think I picked it up at Michael's quite a while ago. Now let me introduce you to the Featured Cupcake Sampler this week! Do you remember this adorable scene Michelle created with her Copic markers last week? She's done it again this week with a cool optical illusion on her cobblestone cupcake wall. You can read all the details on her blog Just Painting Around! Now it's your turn to try the sketch! I'll chose the most clever, creative, and cute creation from the submissions this weekend to be the Featured Cupcake Sampler next week. Your design and blog will be featured on my blog during Cupcake Friday. One random winner will also be selected from among all the participants to receive 1 piece of each of the patterns from the Crate Paper Blue Hill Collection! You're not required to use cupcakes for the challenge, but if you got 'em why not use 'em!? :) You're welcome to create something other than a card, just stick as closely to the sketch as possible and you'll be eligible for the prize drawing and Featured Cupcake Sampler honors. If you're uploading to Splitcoast use keyword TECC23 (for Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge 23). Leave a comment on this post with a link to your blog post or gallery upload so I can check it out! You must have your cards uploaded by Monday, July 7th at 8am PST to be eligible for the prize drawing. I can't wait to see what you come up with! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

You don't want to miss the wonderful inspiration from the Cupcake Crew this week!
