Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #47

Happy Friday and Happy Cupcake Day! I have to start today by shouting out some BIG NEWS! In just two weeks on Friday, January 2nd Taylored Expressions will present the largest ever release of new Stamp a Sweet Impression sets! So I hope you'll plan to ring in the new year SASI style with some sweet new rubber and brand new papercrafting products! Sneak peeks will start on Wednesday, December 31st! The weeks just keep going by faster and faster! Can you believe Christmas is next week already? The weather has finally cooled down here in Southern California so Christmas seems more appropriate now, but I still have shopping to do and mailing Christmas cards! Maybe they'll be New Year's cards this year instead! Anyhow, I really am happy it's Friday! Jon and I are going to Pasadena's famous Pie 'n Burger for date night tonight. I'm sure the burgers are good, but we all know why I want to go.... (pssst... the PIE!). LOL! Finally on to the details of my card! I pulled out my Stampin' Up Crazy for Cupcakes set and realized I hadn't inked the large cupcake yet. It seemed perfect for this sketch! I paper pieced the cupcake liner with the polka dot patterned paper and colored the rest of the image with Copic markers. I bought the patterned paper at Hobby Lobby while we were in Iowa last week. I added little orange rhinestones as sprinkles, a Taylored Twill bow, and a PaperTrey sentiment along the bottom. This sketch is super simple, but I love the results! I'm so excited to introduce you to the Featured Cupcake Sampler this week! Karen's adorable cupcake card caught my attention last week and we're so lucky to have her sample the sketch for us this week. Flopsey the bunny is such a cute image and Karen worked her magic with it! I love the ruffly ribbon treatment too! You can check out all the details on this card and the rest of Karen's beautiful work on her blog: The Paper Playhouse. Thanks so much for sampling the sketch, Karen! Now it's your turn to to try the sketch! I'll choose the most clever, creative, and cute creation from the submissions this weekend to be the Featured Cupcake Sampler next week. Your design and blog will be featured on my blog during Cupcake Friday. You're not required to use cupcakes for the challenge, but if you got 'em why not use 'em!? You're welcome to create something other than a card, just stick as closely to the sketch as possible and you'll be eligible for the Featured Cupcake Sampler honors. If you're uploading to Splitcoast use keyword TECC47 (for Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge 47). Leave a comment on this post with a link to your blog post or gallery upload so I can check it out! You must have your cards uploaded by Monday, December 22nd at 8am PST to be eligible for the featured cupcake sampler. If you're interested in more cupcakes today, stop by the SASI blog and check out the winner of the Top Chef Contest and Our Friday Friend this week. She's sharing her beautiful artwork and her favorite Chocolate Peppermint Crunch Cookie Bark recipe! Also learn how you can become our next Friday Friend on the SASI blog! I can't wait to see what you come up with for the sketch. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Don't forget to check out the sketch inspiration from the Cupcake Crew this week!
