  • Mystery Baker's Dozen Blog Giveaway: Each day, one lucky blog commenter will be chosen by random draw to win a $10 TE Gift Certificate.  Winners will be chosen from a different Baker's Dozen blog each day and will be announced on Taylor's blog on Release Day!  Be sure to hop around to see all the sneak peeks and leave comments on each and every blog for more chances to win. Limit one comment per blog per day, please.  Comments close Thursday 7/30 at 7pm PST for the drawings.
For my first project, I used Birds of a Feather, a set I've been dying to release for a long time! The full-size set was illustrated by Nancy McKinney for the Whimsical Wishes collection and includes 21 images and sentiments already trimmed from deeply etched rubber. I love that the stamps can do everything from clean and simple to very detailed in a variety of styles (vintage, elegant, cutesy, shabby chic)! I decided to go with something on the detailed side (I'm sure you're not surprised...lol). I should also mention that this stamp set also has a set of 5 coordinating dies including the branch and 4 beautiful little birdies! The branch die can be used with the coordinating branch stamp or trimmed from your favorite patterned paper or perhaps some brown felt. I started by cutting the branch from woodgrain patterned paper in the My Mind's Eye Stella Rose Mabel collection. Then I cut it again from green cardstock and pieced the leaves over the brown branch. I love dies with dual purpose so I also used the Cloud Border die to sponge the background. If you're curious how you can do the same, check out the video below (or click here)! After sponging the background I stamped the birdcage directly onto the paper with Pumpkin Spice ink, added the bird inside the cage with Deep Lagoon ink, and the bird on the branch with Pumpkin Spice ink. I also used the Cloud Border die for the traditional use as a border and added a die cut cloud from the Cloud Duo die set. Here are the dies I used on the Birds of a Feather project:

For my next project I used the latest cutie from the Moka collection, illustrated by Nancy McKinney. And guess what her name is!? It's Taylor! *grin* As Nancy was designing the initial Moka girls, this one was my favorite so she named it after me! I love her sweet ruffled dress and cute little headband. I started by stamping her in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, paper piecing her dress with patterned paper from the My Mind's Eye Lime Twist Happy Go Lucky patterned paper, and coloring the rest of her with Copics. I decided to make a little door knob hanger (perhaps for our little girl's nursery!) using one of the fun acrylic shadowbox frames by Darcie's. This one is the Bella Medium frame. They're easy to use and your project will look really professional once you put it all together (oh... and they're on sale!). I added a few Split Pea rhinestones along the grass lines, but other than that it really didn't need much dressing up with the help of the acrylic frame!

Moka Taylor needed a friend so Nancy illustrated the adorable Justin (yes, inspired by the Justin.... Justin Bieber). Do you see the resemblance!? The big sneakers, hoodie, side swept hairstyle! *grin* I know a bunch of tweens who would love to receive a card with Justin on it! I started by stamping the image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, paper piecing the hoodie with patterned paper from the Echo Park Little Boy collection, and coloring the rest with Copics. I cut the image out with Spellbinders Labels Seventeen and sponged around the inside with chalk ink. The Seeing Stars die set and the Star Border die that we showcased yesterday with the circus set look great with Justin too! Then to finish it off I added the 'dude' sentiment and embossed the birthday sentiment with white embossing powder. Here are the dies I used on my Moka Justin project:

And for my last sneak peek project I used the super sweet Hello A la Carte stamp, illustrated by Nancy McKinney. Have you noticed the pattern yet? Each month Nancy designs a new word A la Carte! These are really great for creating a focal point on a quick and easy card! So if you've missed the past word A la Carte stamps, you'll want to check out Mom, Welcome Baby, and Wow You're Engaged too. I found the most perfect telephone patterned paper in the Alphabet Soup Girl Project Pantry kit. I colored the letters and telephone image to match the patterned paper and then added a denim flower from my stash along with a rhinestone center and some Crystal Stickles on the telephone to finish it off. It was a super quick and easy card (and I think pretty cute too!).

So there you have our July sneak peeks! All of the new products will be available at the TE Store tomorrow morning at 8am PST! And if you're looking for something to keep you busy in the meantime, make sure you check out the rest of the Baker's Dozen blogs (and leave some comments along the way for a chance to win a gift certificate!). I just know they're gonna blow you away with their creativity!

Taylored Expressions July Sneaks - Day 1

Goooood morning! We're getting another head start on our July release by beginning the sneak peeks today! I'm not sure where the whole month of June went, but I'm so excited to show you all the July goodies that I'm just going to have to overlook the speed that life is passing by! We have so many super adorable stamps to share with you this month and of course lots of dies and an impression plate to coordinate! Before I get started with my projects, I want to make special mention of our July Release At a Glance. You'll find everything you need to know about this month's release, including how you can win some awesome prizes!

    July Release At a Glance
    • We have sneak peeks to share Wednesday and Thursday.  All of the new products will be available for purchase on Friday, July 1st at 8 am PST. You'll find it all in the Fresh out of the Oven Department at the Taylored Expressions Store.
    • Join us as a fan on Facebook for an early peek at the stamp sets, as well as a SPECIAL GIVEAWAY, on Thursday night beginning at approximately 6 pm PST.
For my first project I used the oh so cute In the Clouds stamp set illustrated by Nancy McKinney for the Whimsical Wishes collection. The sky's the limit for your projects using these adorable blimps and banners! Or maybe you're the clever stamper and you see a submarine or a rocket ship? This full-size set is filled with 25 images and sentiments with lots of fun possibilities. I started with patterned paper from the My Mind's Eye Lime Twist Fly a Kite collection. It provided the perfect backdrop for my little blimp and clouds. I stamped the blimp onto Choice Snow White cardstock, colored it with Copics, and cut it out using the coordinating Blimps & Banner die set. Oh... did I forget to mention that this set has super cute coordinating dies too!? I added the Cloud Duo dies and stamped a tiny cloud from the set throughout the background and the front was finished. It's not often that I also get around to decorating the inside of my card, but this card was begging for it with the perfect innie and outtie sentiment combo. Designing the inside of the card also gave me a chance to use the new Clouds Impression Plate and Cloud Border Die. Check out my video below (or click here) to see how I created the cloudy background on the inside of my card using the Clouds Impression plate. Here are the dies that I used on my card:

Step right up...come one come all! My second project uses Life is a Circus illustrated by Doug Applegate for the Apple Doodle Ink collection. So I have to tell you I'm not usually a big fan of clowns, but this one stole my heart! The juggling balls and the clown are two separate images so I started by stamping the clown in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with Copics. Then I used 4 different colors to ink up the juggling balls (Lime Pastel, Lipstick Red, Deep Lagoon, and Tangerine) and stamped those above the clown. The image is cut with Spellbinders Wonky Rectangles and sponged around the inside. The patterned paper is from the My Mind's Eye Lime Twist Fly a Kite collection. And I also used some new dies on this card too, the Seeing Stars die set and the Star Border die:

I'm already looking forward to sharing my projects for tomorrow, but in the meantime join me in hopping around to see what our amazing design team has created. Don't forget to leave comments along the way for a chance to win a gift certificate to the TE Store!

      Baker's Dozen Announcements

Good morning and Happy Tuesday! We're gearing up for a fun and fabulous release this week with sneak peeks starting tomorrow! But before we start the peeks I have a few Baker's Dozen announcements to share with you.

Today it's time to say a fond farewell to one of our Baker's Dozen members. And while it's never fun to say goodbye, I am so thankful that Jackie Pedro was able to spend such a long time with TE! I know how much you all have enjoyed seeing her beautiful work over the past several years. Her projects are always so beautifully designed and embellished... she makes it look effortless! I'm also thankful to have been able to spend some time with Jackie in person at CHA in Anaheim last year. While this picture makes me look like an absolute giant (really, I'm not that tall!), it's one of my favorite memories. Jackie, thank you for sharing your time and talents with TE and best wishes as you pursue time with family, friends, and of course stamping! You will be missed, but I know I speak for everyone when I say we'll still be stopping by your blog often!

And while I'm sure Jackie's feet are actually quite small, she certainly leaves big shoes to fill! But I know our newest Baker's Dozen member is up to the task! I hope you'll all join me in welcoming Melody Rupple! Melody has been a part of our Key Ingredients design team for the past year and I know how much our subscribers enjoy her beautiful creations using the kit supplies each month. So what could be better than more Melody? If by chance you're not familiar with Melody's work, you can find her fabulous creations on her blog: A Paper Melody! I can hardly wait to see what she's cooked up for our latest release!

We're also due for a new Guest Designer, but with two upcoming consumer shows and all the busyness of summer, I'll be waiting to introduce our next Guest Designer in September. But I do want to say a big thank you to Amber Hight, our May/June Guest Designer, for sharing her beautiful creations with us!

Well, that's it for today! I'm going to leave you with this little sneak peek snippet of our July release. I hope you all have a wonderful day and make sure you stop back tomorrow for the first day of peeks and a Mystery Blog Hop Giveaway!

June Blast from the Past Blog Hop

Good morning stamping friends! Can you believe we're almost through June already!? This summer is going way too fast! Today it's time for another Blast from the Past Blog Hop and I just know all of our creative customers have some fabulous inspiration to share! Maybe this is your first time stumbling upon our Blast from the Past blog hop and you're wondering what it's all about. Each month we issue a theme and a sketch to our fabulous customers and we all get creative with our 'older' TE stamps. It's a great way to get inspiration for the stamps already in your collection and meet fellow TE lovers along the way! We'd love to have you join us and you can find all of the hop details (including how to sign up!) on this page. I hope you'll come play with us next month!

Our theme for the hop this month is "Old Glory", but don't be fooled! Patriotic images were not required to participate...just the color combination of red, white, and blue! I had fun searching through my stamps to find a non-traditional set to work with this color combo. I finally settled on In the Park (one of my favorite sets from last summer). I started by stamping the scene in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloring it with Copics. I stamped the kites in Warm Red and Prussian Blue ink, cut them out, and popped them up at the top. I chose red, white, and blue patterned papers and embellished the card with a red rhinestones and a red and blue flower embellishment from my stash. I'm excited to start the hop and see what everyone else created so I'm going to keep this short and sweet! Make sure you stop by and visit the rest of our Blast from the Past hoppers too! I hope you have a wonderful day!

      Beach Belle & BFTP Reminder

Good morning and Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend and you're feeling ready to tackle another week. And if not, go grab an extra cuppa coffee (or can of Mt. Dew in my case) and you'll be ready in no time! *wink* We had a busy weekend with another garage sale, baby furniture shopping, and tying up some loose ends. I also had a little time to stamp this weekend and decided to pull out my Beach Belle petite set and pair it up with supplies from the June Key Ingredients kit. I started by stamping in Memento Tuxedo Black and coloring it with Copics. I used colors from the June KI Copic Kit since they match the paper perfectly! I cut the image out with Spellbinders Classic circle and layered it onto a Spellbinders Lacey Circle. Then I created my own flower embellishment with the paper flowers and brads included in the June kit. And I used the blue Copic to highlight the petals on the blue flower. To finish it off I cut out a wave border, added a strip of polka dot ribbon, and a few Island Lagoon rhinestones. I decided to leave it without a sentiment so I can decide what I want it to be later!

I also have a few reminders today:

      1. Hopefully you saw the special offer for new Key Ingredients subscribers that we posted last week! If not, there's still time to sign up for a 6-month subscription and choose a FREE stamp set! You can find all the details HERE.

      2. Today is the last day to sign up for the June Blast from the Past blog hop! The blog hop is a fun way to get together with fellow TE lovers and get lots of inspiration for stamp sets we've released in the past. This month's hop theme is red, white, and blue. So all you have to do is make a card using a red, white, and blue color combo and TE Stamps. The hop is this Thursday, June 23rd and you can find all the signup details HERE.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you all have a wonderful day!
