So when I starting hearing the buzz among my friends about Becky Higgins Project Life I checked into it and thought "There's my perfect solution."! I told you about how I'm taking Maggie Holmes' photography class (which starts today!) and one of my goals this year is to take more pictures. I figured that Project Life will give me the perfect opportunity to practice my photography skills and record lasting memories at the same time!
Shortly after deciding to do Project Life I ran into my first snag. I want to use the Design A page protectors for my Project Life album, but they're out of stock until sometime next month. Once I get the page protectors I'll already be several weeks behind. *sad face* But instead of getting frustrated I decided to tackle that blank piece of 12x12 paper in front of me and do my title page:
I LOVE how it turned out! I used pictures from Madelyn's newborn photo session and paired them with papers from the October Afternoon Thrift Shop collection. I started with a piece of 12x12 cardstock that I cut out with an Accucut die at my local scrapbook store. The I just played around with the different patterned pieces until I had them just the way I wanted. I just glued down all of the pieces, added canvas alphabet stickers for my title, and slipped it inside my album.
Since completing my title page I decided to continue with my 12x12 pages while I'm waiting for the Design A to come back in stock. I already have a couple more pages done that I'll be sharing later this week! So I guess my scrapbook album will be a combo of Project Life and regular scrapbook layouts.
Are any of you doing Project Life too? I'm always collecting ideas and I'd love to see your pages so leave me a link below!

Wow, Taylor, that system sounds really awesome! I scrapbooked the first couple of years of each of my kids, and then I just became too overwhelmed to do more. This makes it seem doable :)
L.O.V.E. your title page!!! What a great idea making regular scrap pages until you get the page protectors!
OMG Taylor, that page is absolutely stunning., I can't believe that is your first try -- you seem like a pro
Beautiful title page, Taylor! I love all the different patterned papers and Madelyn is just beautiful!
Gorgeous layout ♥♥
Love your title page! And your daughter is absolutely adorable... I can't wait until our little one is here so I can have a newborn photo session too! :)
Taylor, this is fantastic!!! Love the colors!! Great way to tackle the big page in small blocks, too :).
I love scrpbooking and got into cards because I got overwhelmed by all the two page layouts and having to have complete albums for all 3 kids! I have read about this program and I LOVE Becky Higgens products/ideas! I wasn't really sure how the program works... I'll have to look at it more closely! Keep sharing your work is beautiful!
Okay so for your first attempt at scrapbooking this is awesome! Great use of paper, I am pinning this! I'm doing project life this year as well, too hard to keep up with 12x12 scrapbooking all year and i love the freedom of putting some photos straight into the sleeves!
Good luck on your journey,
Jessica

That page is your first scrapbook page ever? It's fabulous! You will make an amazing album. I did Project Life for my neice's senior year of high school. I loved it! I had already done 9th, 10th & 11th grades in a regular album and wanted her senior year to stand out. I have another that I need to start for me. They're fabulous!
ADORABLE Taylor!! Love the papers and of course that little cutie! :)
OMG Taylor, you have an adorable little sweetie there. Awesome layout'

So sweet, Taylor! Love your title page! The pics are darling and I love your blocks of patterned papers!
Love your page Taylor! I've seen Project Life for a while but so far I've resisted and don't know why. I want to scrapbook the "old fashioned way" but I don't seem to find the time to gather supplies and create much these days. Guess I'll get out of my rut and get on board with Project Life! Thanks for the needed push, lol.
One thing I'll enjoy is seeing more pic's of your sweet baby girl!
Love your title page Taylor!
