Taylored Expressions January Studio Challenge

Hey there! I hope you're all having a great start to 2013! I think I blinked and missed the first half of the month! I had a wonderful time at CHA and picked out a ton of cool new products for the store. Of course I came home with a cold, but no time for rest as we've spent the last week preparing for the move to our new warehouse space!

Today the Baker's Dozen and I are joining together for the January Studio Challenge and getting back into my studio was a welcome change from unpacking boxes!

For this month's challenge we're helping out a newbie!

It's exciting when a friend discovers the joy of stamping. But do you remember how overwhelming it was to decide what to get when you were new to the craft? So for this month's challenge I have a {hypothetical} friend who started stamping less than a year ago and she is loving it! She has some Christmas money burning a hole in her pocket, and she's seen all of my TE creations, so she's asking for my advice on what stamping supplies to purchase.

I started by making a shopping list for my friend with little notes about my choices:

1. Love Monsters stamp set - choose a specific holiday or occasion to stamp for. Having a purpose for your cards and being able to give them away soon after you make them is instant gratification. You'll want to keep stamping more and more and more!

2. Banner Stacklets 1 die set - my friend has a die cutting machine and she's looking for a set of dies with lots of versatility. This is the perfect set for any style!

3. A 6x6 Paper Pad - I chose the Love Birds collection by Doodlebug for her. It's filled with cute and simple patterns that coordinate well with the stamp set images.

Love Monsters   Banner Stacklets 1

And here are a few pieces of advice for every new stamper:

1. Start with a card sketch. This is for every stamper (new or seasoned). Layouts provide great inspiration and all the work is done for you! Everything is well-balanced and it's easy to put them together. You download the TE sketch book in my sidebar and I also love using Jen's Deconstructed Sketches.

2. Paper piece. I know many new stampers are intimidated by images that require a lot of coloring. So choose simple images and use coordinating patterned papers to piece the designs. They'll always come out looking great and it's often a time saver too!

So there you have a few ideas and pieces of advice from me! The rest of the gals have more inspiration and advice for newbie stampers. Even if you're not new to stamping, maybe you'll gain a little tidbit of information to share with your own stamping friends!
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Have you ever tried your hand playing online games? If not, then you've entered into the online game world with this article! There are tons of games and anyone can find something they like. In order to help you out, the following article will feature some information on the best games of each gaming genre.

Don't let gaming consume your life. Too much video games can be unhealthy. You need to be sure that you do other activities too. Online Games can be addictive, so just make sure that you moderate your usage.

If you want to sell your games on the Internet, you have to describe them in as much detail as possible. This description should include what type of condition the game is in and how it plays. Anyone who purchases this from you would like to be aware of these important details. By making your description as detailed as possible, you are increasing the odds that you'll sell your game.

Play in single player mode first. If you are not doing well by yourself, you will get demolished when playing with other people. If you find the game too challenging, make a trade for something you like more. Avoid wasting your time when it comes to video games.

Copy online video tutorials precisely. You have to follow every step they take verbatim. To see all the details on the screenshots, zoom in and view at full-screen.

When playing side-scrolling 2D games, always check to the left to see if there are any hidden items or passageways. Don't overlook high ledges or walls that may have invisible entry points, either. Never feel silly when you check out strange areas of the game, you just might find something valuable.

Never clean your system, no matter the age, with strong cleaners. Lightly blowing can help to remove dust, and this is often all it takes to get things up and running. You can destroy your system if you use harsh chemicals on it.

You can sell your old video games with the use of online ads. EBay is a tool that you can use to get your games on the market, but don't use it first. Sometimes there can be issues with shipping when selling from eBay, but if you know what you are doing, it is a great way to sell your games. Try Craigslist, or use the marketplace app on Facebook.

Check out ratings when buying games for children. These games are rated for a reason. Any game with ratings like A or M are totally inappropriate for children. Check the website of the ESRB to learn more.

If possible, try games out before you buy them at your local library. Most public libraries offer video gaming that can be checked out for free. The library usually has game titles for all different systems, so simply call ahead and see if they have the title you want.

Figure out how to operate the safety and parental controls of any gaming system that comes into your home. You can likely make adjustments that keep kids from viewing mature content. Some allow each gaming profile to be customized separately, allowing adults to enjoy games not meant for younger audiences.

Kicking back and relaxing with your favorite video game is a great way to relax and have fun, but they offer so much more above and beyond the fun factor. What you've read here will ensure your gaming time is well spent.

You can pass some time, relieve some stress, and spend time with family and friends playing video games. Today's versatile computer games can help achieve everything from fitness to improved intellect. Figure out how you can have the best time gaming by using the article that follows.

Any game you give your child should be age-appropriate. You can do this easily by checking the game's front packaging or cover for the age rating. Some video gaming focus on violence, which you should avoid.

Are your kids' games age appropriate? This means you're going to need to look at the warnings on the backs of the games to figure out if they're a good fit for your kids. There are many games that actually promote violence; these you may need to steer clear of.

The biggest choice to make as you enter the world of gaming is: computer or playstation? A lot of games come on many platforms, which gives you a lot of flexibility. But depending on the game, it might be best to play certain ones on a particular platform since it works best.

These days, lots of games are transmitted online. There are a wide variety of downloadable games available for PCs, consoles, and smartphones. It s convenient, but it may cause you to spend more money than normal. Resist the temptation to make impulse gaming purchases, especially of big-ticket new releases. It is important to learn everything you can about a game prior to purchasing it.

If you are frustrated, give the game a break for awhile. Often, you will not be at the top of your game, as you may want to choose another time to try to beat it. Don't sit there and get angry or frustrated when you should be having fun instead.

You can go to sleep when you are dead! This common myth is believed by gamers and is also propagated by online websites which claim to provide good gaming recommendations . Completely false! A person needs a full 8 hours to keep their body healthy.

To save money, consider purchasing used games. The cost of new online gaming are $60 or higher depending on the title. This price is bad enough as it is, but it can a real downer when the game is delivered and you find that you absolutely hate it. By purchasing a used game, you could save 25-50% on the game you want.

Rather than spending money on a new wii, consider playing your favorite games on your computer. Many games, especially ones that have been out for a while, are avaiable to be played free online. This allows you game play at a much lower price.

If possible, try games out before you buy them at your local library. Most public libraries offer computer games that can be checked out for free.

There are so many entertaining elements to video gaming, they cannot be covered in a single article. You should have found what you needed to know right here. After a long hard day at the office or school, put your feet up, turn on the gaming system and enjoy!
